Tejon Ranch and the Outlets at Tejon Celebrate “Tejon Treats the Teachers’ Giveaway”
Tejon Ranch Company, in partnership with Outlets at Tejon, recently wrapped up the “Tejon Treats the Teachers” giveaway, and we’re thrilled to share the incredible impact it had on our community! This initiative, launched to commemorate the Outlets at Tejon’s 10-year anniversary, honored educators who play a vital role in shaping the future. With over 360 nominations submitted, it’s clear that our community values the dedication and passion of our outstanding teachers!
Among the standout winners was Stephanie Larios, a 1st grade teacher at Orangewood Elementary School in the Edison School District. With seven years of experience, Stephanie’s commitment to making a lasting impact is evident. She shared that her goal as a teacher is to “remind kids that if they work hard, they can pretty much do anything they want.” Her favorite part of teaching? The “ah ha moments” when a child finally grasps a concept after persevering. Stephanie plans to use her $500 Visa gift card to enhance her dinosaur-themed classroom, creating a warm and welcoming environment where her students can thrive.
Another winner, Julia Edith Rios, a 9th grade English and ELD II teacher at Highland High School, shared her story of inspiration. Julia’s passion for education was ignited by her parents, who instilled in her the belief that education is a lifelong asset. Now in her third year of teaching, Julia’s favorite part of the job is building connections with her students. She plans to use her prize to purchase podcast microphones and a charging station for her classroom, encouraging her students to develop their speaking skills and stay focused during class.
Jordan Aleman, who will be teaching special education at Evergreen Elementary School, was also among the winners. This is Jordan’s first year with her own class, and she’s eager to make a difference in the lives of her students. As a passionate advocate for the special education community, Jordan hopes to expand public understanding and acceptance of individuals with special needs. Her message to the world? “Be kind, especially to those in the special education program.”
Lastly, we celebrate Ariana Balink, a 5th grade teacher at Christa McCauliff Elementary School in Bakersfield. With a decade of teaching under her belt, Ariana’s enthusiasm for 5th grade is infectious. Describing her students as “goofy and silly,” Ariana loves the fun and joy she shares with her class every day. Teaching has always been her dream, and she credits her inspiring teachers, Mr. Pro and Ms. Pope, for setting her on this path.
The “Tejon Treats the Teachers” giveaway was a resounding success, highlighting the dedication of educators like Stephanie, Julia, Jordan, and Ariana. At Tejon Ranch and the Outlets at Tejon we’re proud to support these incredible teachers and the future they’re helping to shape. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together!
