The Tejon Ranch Company is committed to responsibly using its land and resources to meet the housing, employment and lifestyle needs of current and future generations of Californians, while being guided by the Ranch’s historic core values of conservation and good stewardship.
That commitment includes the limited, thoughtful and master-planned development of three separate communities to be built over a period of 25 years. The developments feature extensive areas of open space so the total acreage actually built upon during that 25-year period will represent only about five percent of the Ranch’s land.
The development projects include:
- Tejon Industrial Complex – which, at build-out, will provide 6,000 new local jobs, $5.5 million a year in local tax revenues, and tremendous new economic opportunity for Kern County residents.
- Tejon Mountain Village – a natural, low-density community carefully tucked into the hills and mountains surrounding Tejon Lake – across from Lebec at the top of the Grapevine. This community will feature a mix of housing options ranging from lakeside cabins to estate homes on large lots, resort hotels, environmentally friendly golf courses and some limited water recreation amenities. Tejon Mountain Village will bring jobs and significant new tax revenue to Kern County that can be used to improve schools, help build and fix roads, and meet other important needs.
- Centennial – a master-planned community in Los Angeles County located next to Highway 138, just east of Interstate 5. Centennial embraces Smart Growth principles. Built around neighborhood “village centers,” Centennial will offer all types of housing and prices. Centennial is designed to be a sustainable community – a community that conserves water and energy, maximizes open space, de-emphasizes the automobile, provides for mass transit, and encourages walking and biking with extensive parks, greenbelts and hiking trails. Centennial will also include significant commercial and industrial offices and buildings to provide a balance of jobs and keep people working in their own community.
