Dear Friends,
At Tejon Ranch, we recognize the privilege and responsibility we have to be good stewards of this remarkable California landscape. We are dedicated to using our land in ways that will benefit conservation, the local community, the people of California, and our shareholders. In so doing, we are simply continuing the legacy of good stewardship that started nearly 170 years ago. As California continues to grow, we also recognize our obligation to wisely and responsibly plan for that growth. Current and future generations of Californians – our children and grandchildren – will need homes and jobs and opportunities to build a future.
This is our vision for the future of Tejon Ranch, a vision that involves Preserving California’s Legacy and Providing for California’s Future.
Preserving California’s Legacy means putting a major emphasis on conservation, including setting aside up to 240,000 acres – 90% of the Ranch — for permanent conservation. It means working to protect the California condor and to continuing the historic ranching and farming operations that have been taken place on the Ranch since the days of early California.
Tejon Ranch will also continue to Provide for California’s Future, as it’s done many times in the past. Today, our vision involves the environmentally sensitive development of a small portion of our land. These master planned communities, from the commercial/industrial Tejon Ranch Commerce Center to the sustainable new town of Centennial and the world class mountain resort community of Tejon Mountain Village, will be models of development in the 21st century, using state-of-the-art design and construction techniques to minimize impacts and create environmentally sustainable communities.
Tejon Ranch holds enormous promise and thus carries with it a tremendous responsibility. As a Company, we understand that balance and the important role our Ranch will play in the future of California.
Thank you very much for your interest in Tejon Ranch. We hope you will check back often for updates on our progress as we carry out our Vision to Preserve California’s Legacy and Provide for California’s Future.
Sincerely,
Robert A. Stine
President and Chief Executive Officer
